Why are so many people ignorant about Transgender and CrossDressers?

Why are so many people intolerant of crossdressers and people who are transgender? Seriously, these people go through absolute hell as people just add to that. WHY?!?!

1. Because they're sheltered and maybe don't know what it's like to be uncomfortable in their own body.
2. Well there is a difference between ignorance and intolerance. Personally, all the questions don't really bother me, they want to know, their curious, their open. This generation is really asking "why?" it's much more tollerant than the past.

Last night I met a girl that wants to be a guy & we had a conv I just couldent comprehend her thinking because I was & am not in her shoes, So I could not have any Empathy for her because I cannot understand her thinking. I did not judge her at all, I just asked questions about it. But many other people feel that because they cannot have that feeling as she does, they just judge her because they simply do not understand it.
10. I am ignorant because I simply don't know any or anyone who is talking to me about it. For anyone I know, it just doesn't come up in daily life. I can't speak to the intolerance, either. I would guess it is because it threatens a comfort zone. Many people require familiarity and control over their environments. Transgendered and Cross-dressers would totally disrupt the status quo. I am guessing.
11. Socity wants us to believe the men are superior, and that means that a man is demeaning himself, by trying to be something lesser. It would be a much nicer place if people could do what felt right and not be judged.
12. Why are so many people ignorant toward homosexuals? Why are so many heterosexuals AND homosexuals so ignorant toward bisexuality? Why are so many people ignorant toward where we get our sexual attractions from? Why are so many people ignorant against BDSM? Why are so many people ignorant against human sexuality in general? (This one goes to almost everyone of every sexual orientation. It's really ridiculous, truly) The truth is, most people like being stupid. 13. Most people are intolerant of everything that isn't normal to begin with. Fetishes, bisexuality, homosexuals. When something such as crossdressing for males come along its being viewed as the man is a wuss a sissy and isnt being the manly norm. As for transgender thats something most people couldnt ever fully understand without them going through it themselves so they dont try.
14. Being ignorant of, or intolerant of, are two totally different things. I'm not at all intolerant of groups like that and others, but I am ignorant of the nuances of their lifestyles, so be tolerant of me!

They are insecure because they don't know their place in life. I could keep going, but I don't really waste time worrying about people who fear me because I was born differently. The majority of them are all mouth, and don't even have the spine to say it to my face.
16. Sake, I can out it down to their ignorance like you said we go through enough hell without those morons adding to it.I am lucky at last as I have an understanding wife who helps a lot but even she is embarrassed by taunts from the idiots.
17. I asked a simialar question a week ago and from the ansers I got is because ppldont understand trans and cross dressers. Ppl say we are freaks and we are confused don't belong in the LBGTQ community ect.....I think it's rediculous we are as much human as any one else thing I find amuzing is everyday I know that everyone has encountered a trans person or crossdresser and didn't even know it and find them to be very cool. So for those of u who are ignorant of crossdressers and trans ppl becaful who u judge since i'm sure ur already friends with somone who is already trans or a crossdresser.
18. I think part of it is because people confuse different things. So they assume TS people are in it for sexual thrills, they assume CD people seek to transition, etc., they assume that anyone who is either just loves fancy feminine clothing... And, of course, they pay more attention to transfeminine people than transmasculine ons, because, y'know, of course assigned-women want to be men (p-envy and all that) but why would assigned-men want to be women?
19. I think to truly answer this question one needs to look at what people are taught by today's society.. With many of the reason's being related to what churches as a whole have been teaching people for centuries now.. much of those teachings have been vary narrow mined and bigoted towards people, organizations, cultures and beliefs which are contrary to the churches and threatening to their power and control. one just needs to take a look at history, and how churches have treated major organizations like the "poor christian solders" recognized and referenced as the Knights Templar's and how the Catholic church, who supported the Knights Templar's over threw simply because of greed with a fear of loss of power.. this same theme, has been repeated by countless religious powers, through out the ages... stomping on beliefs and practices which threatened them.. Which includes the Catholics, Puritans and so called Christan's discovering and conquering the New world known as the Americas, wherein they promptly wiped out the heathenisic uncivilized natives, (native Americans) who themselves recognized and revered those who they called two-spirits, or what we call today as transsexuals! historically speaking Native Americans where not, are not the only culture to recognize and and accept transsexuals for who they are.. as to Crossdressers? that's almost an oxymoron in of it's self... it's really modern times which have added gender to clothing.. but additionally once again Christianity prevails in that but this time they have written rules of war, which they call the bible.. though shall not dress in the clothes of the opposite sex to evade war... (not the exact words) but the same general idea.. oh wait that sounds just like people trying to quote passages about wearing hats on Sunday.. LOL why is it an oxymoron.. well how many men, women & children crossdress... untold numbers.. last I've heard at least 90% of all men within the united states have cross dressed at least once in their lives if not on a regular bases.. and women.. Oh my what about men's jeans T-shirts and your boyfriends shorts.. shirts etc.. isn't that the same? and yet.. people ostracize and kill others because, why? sorry.. for the rant...
