do you think its ok to be transgender?? should guys really wear girls clothing or vise versa??? just wondering because my school is having a debate that will resume monday so i'm just wondering what you guys think? yea that' what i'm talking about smart one!! people who believe that they should have been born a different gender so to be the way they want they dress up!!! zaf.. i totally agree with you.. ishould have made that clear that just because you wear the opposite sex's clothing doesn't mean your transgender... in fact my teacher (female) wears guy clothes and she's not transgender. she just likes the way they fit.

thats transexual... transgender are people who's mental gender don't match there sex... transexuals dress up and make themselfs appear as the oposit sex... and intergendered are born with atributes of both sexes...
well it depends cause i like wearing guy jean. cause they look really nice. and guys like wearing girl skinnies if you mean skirts and dresses. then i find that a bit creepy, but if they wanna do it then go ahead.
I'm trans (female to male) and I'll wear whatever the hell I wanna wear! I didn't know I had a fashion monitor. Our university is in a task force meeting right now to decide how to implement adding "gender identity and expression" to our campus anti-discrimination policy due to me and a group of about 30 other GLBT people on my campus. Trans people are people just like anyone else. *edit* IT'S NOT PLAYING DRESS UP! WALK A DAY IN OUR SHOES AND YOU WILL QUICKLY REALIZE IT'S NOT A CHOICE. WE CANT CHANGE WHO WE ARE. Don't you think it would be EASIER if we could just "adapt" and "conform" and stop being "freaks" so you think? But what seems natural to all of the people who don't understand trans people, is very very uncomfortable to us. I don't WANT to wear a mini skirt, or makeup, or date boys, or any of that "girly"stuff. Because...I'M NOT A GIRL! I don't think like one, speak like one, act like one, dress like one, look like one, except for the fact that I have an XX chromosome and a vagina. PLEASEEEE for the love of all that is INTELLIGENT, read a book on gender identity, gender at ALL, and the difference between transgenders, transsexuals,crossdressers, and homosexuality. There's a HUGE difference between gender identity and sexual attraction. *edit #2* Ok..it's OBVIOUS that no one in here knows the difference between a crossdresser,transvestite and a transsexual. Transsexuals are NOT crossdressers.

I dont really think its okay to be transgender. It happens though its just the life some people got born into. I think its something u have to face and deal with just like any other obstacle in life u have to face. I really dont think guys should wear girls clothing...it just looks really odd. But for whatever reason girls in guys doesnt seem to bad. I once listened to a debate on this topic and they tried to explain the double standard (against guys) with this. Their reasoning was because "its okay for a woman to want to raise her standards and become a man. While a man, if dressing like a girl, is lowering himself to a women's level." I don't agree with that its just another view point to think about. And to some extent it does explain the overall duality on the topic.
wearing typical clothes of the other gender does not make you a transgender. a lot of straight people have a transvestic fetish and are turned on by wearing clothes of the other sex. for those who feel like they live in the wrong body and get some radical operations done to change their sex are transgender, and I believe it's ok.
When the debate resumes, mention that the theory of clothing is to cover up what isn't meant to be seen (or however you want to put it, LOL) and that as long as the clothing complies with school rules, it doesn't need to be based on gender. If a girl can wear a skirt, than so can a guy with a woman's mindset (transgender). -alika613
I think its perfectly normal to be trans. Whats wrong with boys wearing girl clothing or girls wearing boys clothes? As long as they are covering themselves, why does society make a big deal about trans people? Oh yeah, its because society is very much on the whole kick that you are either a boy or a girl and that its based on your genitalia, and not what your brain says.
Hon,alot depends on what stage they are in.There is cd/tv/tg/ts in that catagorey.cd simply implies cross dressing,has nothing to do with orientation.TV is in the same boat as cd.TG is everything to do with identity as well as transsexual. Do I feel it's ok to be transgendered?.Absolutly!!!!.I am transgendered. Should guys really wear woman's clothing or visa versa?.Absolutly. I gave up caring what people thought of me long ago.I am happy with myself and that's all that matters.I am a responsible person,not out to be anything but a woman.My orientation is personal and I now see all people from a different perspective. I have been on hormones almost 3 years and it has had a positive effect on my way of thinking.That is one reason I feel women have always out smarted men,there ability to adapt.
