Is it normal for Mens' dress shoes to make a clicking sound when walking?

I have several dress shoes where the heel's make a clicking sound when I walk on hard surfaces. It kind of sounds like I am wearing high heel's, and I wondered why I sometimes feel uncomfortable being the only guy wearing shoes that make that type of sound when walking in a group with other guys.
