Mens High Heels

why can't society be more open minded about crossdresssers, transgender, and transsexuals?

Like you see a bunch of women wearing men clothes and society doesn't question them? But when society see a man wearing women's clothes society question them why I'm confused if women can wear men clothes, why can't men wear women's clothes.

  1. Gender roles I suppose. This morning one of my parents was watching television and they said "Look, the men these days... They act like women!" which seems to concur the fact that men still need to be macho, atleast that is societies viewpoint.
  2. I think that it is related to sexism. Some men still tend to view women as inferiors. Such men would think that a man dressing up as a women is dishonoring himself...showing himself not to be a macho fist-fighting type. Some people are just not very morally advanced...they think like cave-men and cave-women. In a way, it might be a good way of weeding out the people who aren't really good enough to be your friends any way.
  3. The close minded have trouble seeing two men or two women together as a couple. Imagine how they feel when they dress like ladies being a man. They have the mind and tolerance of cavemen.
  4. It's a double standard. I think you would find that most men do have a problem with women who dress in men's clothes on the regular. They prefer to think that all lesbians are hot lipstick variety models who make out only so that they can watch. Most dislike gay men altogether. It's not fair to the rest of us, but unfortunately that is how a lot of men think
  5. It took womens' liberation decades before women reached the point where they now can pretty much wear anything (within reason) without being questioned for it. Short of say a tuxedo, I can't think of anything that is strictly menswear. If men want society to accept them wearing clothes traditionally worn by only women, then they will have to go through a similar process - and if you look closely, you'll see they already are. Many men wear earrings and makeup, (manly) skirts and have their nails done. Change is coming, but this kind of change takes time... If you want society to accept whatever you wear, then put it on and get out there. The more people are exposed to something strange, the more they get used to it.
  6. For the same reason that people aren't open-minded about other cultures, religions, political views, etc. Fear and ignorance.
